The intention of this article is to learn a little about running real applications on kubernetes, learn to do some kubernetes troubleshooting, and show you around the information that kubernetes gives you to deploy high availability, containerized applications on a cluster. I now have a CoreOS box running at Digital Ocean, currently doing nothing. I have a locally built container with nginx and my content inside of it. The time has come to move off my statically Ubuntu VPS box on Digital Ocean and on to a more modern and containerized stack. Why? My VPS was an aged 32-bit Ubuntu box, and I had not done much in terms of maintaining it for a long while.
